MUSEUM OF THE HAT STORE
IN S. JOÃO DA MADEIRA

The President of the Republic, Dr. Jorge Sampaio will fit its Excellency to inaugurate in the next 22nd of June the recently built Museum of the Hat store.
Fruit of an arduous work and cooperation of several people, entities and companies, the Museum intends besides other actividades, to preserve, to conserve and to publish the unique history of the hat industry.

 

Viarco, enthusiastic partner of the project since the 1st moment for the fact of 85 years of envolvement in this area, is congratulated of seeing concluded one more stage in the preservation of the collective memory of the region and of the Country.

DIANA COSTA exposes drawing and painting "Pra Chegar Andei nas Nuvens"

It will be inaugurated on 18th June at 16h00 the exhibition "To Arrive I Walked in the Clouds", of Diana Costa in the Sopro Galery in Lisbon.
Licensed by University of Fine Arts of Porto and with Master's degree in Painting by University of Wimbledon in England, Diana Costa with 25 years bill already in her curriculum several exhibitions.

 

It is with great pleasure that Viarco supports this initiative and wishes the largest success to the painter.

NODDY A SALES SUCCESS

The first serie of Noddy´s Pencils manufactured by Viarco drained in the end of the 1st week, not arriving to satisfy all the requests.
For the school campaign they are already to be produced reinforcements to do face to the orders that continue to arrive to the company.

It is with great satisfaction that we informed that Noddy joined Viarco team. Fruit of this partnership was developed a new colored pencil range and wax of great quality with the nice puppet, that will certainly give more color and happiness to Portugal.

EVT (education visual teachers)
TEACHERS VISIT VIARCO

Inserted in the extent of the continued formation plan a group of 16 teachers of EVT of Sobreira visited Viarco in the past month of March.
During the visit they learned the productive process of one of their main work instruments, the pencil, as well the whole cultural project, social and business of Viarco.
To evaluate for the reactions in the place and for the messages sent later to e-mail the visit was a success.

NEW DESIGNERS '05

The City hall of S. João da Madeira in partnership with Experimenta Design threw a new caption project and promotion of new talents in Portugal.

The contest that becomes separated in 9 categories (Pencil Draw, Photography, Shoe Design, Clothing, Of the Feet to the Head, Music, Jewellery, New applications to the Felt, Design and Multimedia) counts in its organization as high-commissary the stylist Miguel Vieira.

 

In the continuation of its support politics and cultural popularisation, Viarco, associates to this event in the Pencil Draw category, inviting all the creative of our country to participate in this challenge.

MARIONETTES IN VIARCO

In the end of the month of October Viarco received the visit of the entertaining puppets of the Company of Puppet Show “Beto-Hinça."

The objective was to record a video-clip of the CD “The Guris”, a mixed project of infantile music and Puppet Show, that should be introduced to the public in the next February.

 

The collaboration between Viarco and the creative Company of Theatre is already going in their 3rd year, and the company wishes them the largest success for their new project.

VIARCO - THE PENCILS OF THE PRESIDENCY
 

On the comming 5th October, the Presidency of the Republic Museum will be inaugurated.

  This new cultural space, among other activities, means to make public the vast assets accumulated by the various Presidents of the Republic throughout their mandates, and already hopes to welcome many visitors in the short term.

Viarco congratulates itself on having been selected to provide an assorted and fun range of pencils, specially personalized for the Museum and wishes the President of the Republic, Jorge Sampaio, success in his initiative.

VIARCO ON CHANNEL
 

Last 21st September, a report about Viarco was transmitted in the programme called “Quiosque”.

The journalist Tânia Lobo and the image reporter Paulo Santos, from channel 2 of RTP (Portuguese National Television), came to our company to learn how a pencil is made in order to show the young people, who are back to school, the production process of one of the most symbolical school instruments.

DESIGN COMPETITION - ECOS URBANOS BOX


The association for young people “Ecos Urbanos” of S. João da Madeira launched a competition for the design of a pencil box submitted to the theme of the Association and to the work developed in the community.
Viarco joined this project with the co-operation of the Town House of S. João da Madeira, with the purpose of promoting the Association for young people “Ecos Urbanos” as well as its social project, furnishing it with mechanisms, which will improve its financial autonomy and, at the same time, enabling the design artists to publish a work in an original format.
